Biography
Scottish born photographer Harry Benson CBE arrived in America from London’s Fleet Street in 1964 with The Beatles and soon began working for LIFE magazine, becoming one of its most published photographers over the next 30 years. His work has also appeared in Vanity Fair, French Vogue, Paris Match, Forbes, Town & Country, Stern, Architectural Digest, Time, Quest, People, Newsweek, and The London Sunday Times Magazine.
In 2009, Harry was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for service to photography. He received the International Center of Photography (ICP) LIFETIME Achievement Award. Harry has received these three Honorary Doctorates: The Glasgow University & School of Art; St. Andrews University; and Glasgow Caledonian University.
