Caption
In Roma communities, traditions are still passed down orally, from mothers to daughters and fathers to sons. In this parlour, a girl sits surrounded by faux flowers, while a mural depicts a family gathered around a table. The family is at the center of life, and the house reflects identity, status, and how traditions are preserved. 10 August 2008, in Soroca, Republic of Moldova.
